NLCS (Singapore) is looking for an enthusiastic, highly qualified and inspirational **Emotional Guidance **Counsellor **with outstanding track record. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of a new school, drawing on the significant educational expertise and resources of NLCS International.

We are seeking a school specialist Emotional Guidance Counsellor to become part our Individual Needs (IN) Department which has a whole school responsibility to provide support to students and remove barriers to learning.

We are seeking an individual who is responsive and adaptable with excellent interpersonal skills who has current knowledge and up to date training in the counselling field.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To support NLCS (Singapore) students and their families.
- To embed the Emotional Guidance Counselling provision across the whole school.
- To work collaboratively within the School’s Individual Needs Department, supporting the Head of Individual Needs in the process of development planning and the formulation of IN strategy.
- To plan appropriate interventions and maintain suitable case records for students from PreKG to Grade 12 (3-18 years old).
- To provide a confidential counselling service in accordance with SAC Ethical Guidelines.
- To refer clients to external professionals when appropriate.
- To liaise with the Designated Safeguarding Lead as necessary.
- To attend departmental, pastoral and other relevant meetings within the wider community.
- Liaise with relevant colleagues and parents with regard to the monitoring, support, review and well-being of all students.
- To attend professional development courses as required by SAC guidelines.
- To be involved with the facilitation and presentation of Parenting Workshops.
- To offer timely assemblies, class circle times and relevant workshops within the school community.

**Pre-requisites**
- A passion for supporting student’s social emotional needs.
- Experience of counselling students.
- Membership or working towards membership of a professional counselling body.
- An active interest in keeping abreast of current developments in the counselling field.

**Desirable**
- Experience of, or interest in, working with a variety of expressive mediums, for example, sand, art or play therapy.
- A personal practice of mindfulness or contemplative practices and experience of weaving these into client sessions.
- A working understanding of the issues facing Third Culture Kids (TCKs) and their families.
- Knowledge and experience of facilitating a parenting programme.
- Experience within a classroom setting and delivering presentations to larger groups.
