**The Office of Information, Knowledge and Library Services (OIKLS) is seeking for a highly motivated individual who is familiar with the scholarly communication landscape to join the Open Science and Research Services Team. He/she will manage and provide bibliometric services, including the provision of promotion and tenure citation report guidance to faculty members and staff. He/she will be exploring new approaches including leveraging available new digital tools and platforms to streamline and make the service more sustainable in the long term. Another important part of the incumbent’s portfolio is to engage researchers to develop and understanding of the issues surrounding Open Science, scholarly publishing, and communications. **He/she will also be exploring the use of Open Science platforms and tools, new bibliometric tools, Open Science badges and metrics, for purpose of encouraging the adoption of Open Science best practices. **Familiarity with the use of open research collaboration platforms such as such as GitHub, open lab notebooks, open-source, open science tools, Open Science Framework and research data repositories **would be an added advantage.**:
**Key Responsibilities**
- Inform and facilitate discussions with key stakeholders for the development of ideas and solutions.
- Custom-develop generic and discipline-specific Open Science training programmes and learning resources for faculty, research staff and PhD students.
- Build communities of practice e.g., Open Science Champions, Reproducible Science Clubs, to enable and facilitate the exchange of information and best practices.
- Pilot Open Science tools and services and make recommendations to influence policies and investment of resources via the provision of management information and identification of needs.
- Explore and adopt the use of new bibliometric tools, Open Science badges and metrics.

**Requirements**:

- A recognized master’s or Master’s in Library and Information Science or MLIS is preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of experience working in a research setting will be very useful.
- Familiarity with scholarly communication, ethical, legal and policy issues in research, and research data management will be an advantage.
- Experience in developing and delivering instruction in an academic setting will be useful.
- Knowledge of open-source software, workflows and collaborative platforms such as GitHub, open lab notebooks, open-source, open science tools, Open Science Framework, research data repositories will be an added advantage.
- IT skills such as Python, will be viewed favourably.
- Familiarity with various metadata formats e.g., JSON, XML and metadata standards for managing research data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment.
