This role works closely with the Marketing team, in conjunction with other members of the Creative team who deal with art and design. Together, the team of Creatives supports the design operationalisation needs of gush.

Functionally, your work will be key in writing clear, concise, and fit-for-purpose copy for ads, marketing materials, websites, and any other collateral. Such purpose may involve education, persuasion, virality, or branding. This requires understanding a brief on the background of the desired copy, the target audience and context, before composing appropriate copy.

A successful Senior Copywriter would be one who is meticulous in understanding the target audience and context, and a professional when it comes to writing fit-for-purpose copy, whether it is memorable, funny, easy-to-read, educational, or relatable copy. This person should have a persuasive and confident approach to creativity, and whilst juggling deadlines, not be unduly affected creatively by time pressures.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Write strong leads, headlines or first lines of content which hooks readers
- Connect the products and services of gush with real people’s experiences and lives on an emotional, aspirational, and informational level
- Consistently find fresh and effective angles to get readers to pay attention to the copy and resonate with it
- Write clear, concise, and direct copy, reducing wordiness, avoiding vague wording and hyperbole, and convey persuasive messaging without instilling scepticism
- Empathise with the target audience before beginning to draft copy
- Ability to create and write in different tones relative to the project or assignment depending on the requirements
- Ability to translate gush’s brand guidelines on tone of voice, look and feel into copy which is consistent with gush’s brand
- Present ideas in a captivating manner, from deck to verbal presentation to the Marketing/Creative team
- Adopt a research and data-driven approach to benchmark against industry and competitors before drafting copy
- Other creative duties as assigned

**Requirements & Experience**:

- Minimum bachelor’s degree, where a degree in Marketing, Communications or English Literature is an advantage
- Minimum 2 years’ experience, where agency experience and/or marketing campaign related experience is an advantage
- A passion for communications, concise word use, and wordplay
- Observant of various forms of marketing messages in the market, old or new, across a variety of channels
- Able to work under time pressure and across multiple projects without committing errors
- Professional and quality-minded but not a perfectionist
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Meticulous and detailed oriented, curious, and genuinely passionate about being part of something that can do good for the world
- Fluency in English is required, proficiency in Mandarin is a strong advantage given gush’s ties to Chinese stakeholders

**Salary**: $3,500.00 - $5,000.00 per month
