**POSITION DESCRIPTION - Associate
THE ROLE
- Associate at MSDO
- To help shape, grow, and develop the team into an effective, efficient, and importantly creative studio able to take on world-class projects and deliver them
- To directly manage your own projects and have an overview of all projects within the studio
- Management of studio time and resources accordingly with dialogue with the Director's
- To liaise with current and potential clients and create direct constructive, creative business relationships

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Hand drawing and planning abilities
- Strong local project knowledge
- Strong understanding of design culture and our design ambitions within the global interior design world
- Understanding of practice management and a proven record of client focus
- Completion of several small to successful medium-sized projects or a contributor to award
- winning projects
- Project financial management skills
- Documentation skills and experience
- Can present to cleints
- Construction supervision and onsite quality control capabilities
- Ability to mentor and develop a studio team

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree, or higher qualification, in Interior Architecture, Interior Design or related discipline
- Bachelor's Degree or higher qualification in a relevant field

DESIGN

- Manage projects, ensuring Professional Practice is applied to facilitate efficient and timely delivery of

- Assume financial responsibility and profitability for projects
- Contribute to the discipline on issues of good project management, finance, and work practices
- Understand opportunities and risks, how they relate to the delivery of projects, and how to take advantage of it — Understand market factors, including current competitive fee levels and competitors' activities
- Ensure timely billing and collection of fees
- Demonstrate ability to write successful submissions

CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS
- Nurture existing client relationships and contributes to market sectors to maximize additional and value-added opportunities
- Provide input and insight to Matt and Paul on the continuation of client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to clients, giving sound, consistent and non-conflicting advice
- Focus on current clients and introduce new clients when opportunities arise
- Monitor and assess project briefs against the budget, the program, and external factors
- Prepare preliminary project evaluations, return briefs, programs, and feasibility studies
- Prepare and conclude contractual agreements and negotiations with the prior approval from Matt and Paul
- Establish terms of consultancy agreements with clients
- Ensure timely billing and collection of fees
- Confirm budget and time frames following an analysis of the project brief an
- Contribute to the generation of new business
