About the role

As a Purchaser at CHL CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, equipment and services required for the successful completion of construction projects.

What you'll be doing

  1. Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials
  2. Negotiate contracts and purchase orders with vendors to obtain the best possible terms and conditions
  3. Monitor and track orders to ensure timely delivery and follow up on any delays or issues
  4. Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels to meet project demands
  5. Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors and other stakeholders to understand material requirements
  6. Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, procedures and legal requirements
  7. Provide regular reports on purchasing activities, costs and supplier performance

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the construction industry
  2. Strong negotiation and communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost-effective solutions
  4. Proficient in using procurement software and tools to manage the purchasing process
  5. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  6. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records
  7. Relevant diploma or degree in supply chain management, logistics or a related field
