About the Roles
We are seeking an Assistant Purchasing Officer to support a well-established manufacturer specializing in electrical power distribution, control, and automation systems. Based in Tuas Crescent, this contract role (4–6 months) offers transport provided, a competitive salary of up to $3,500, and regular weekday working hours (Monday–Friday, 8.15am – 5.45pm). This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable procurement experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Handle purchasing of materials both locally and overseas, including preparing and processing purchase orders.
- Monitor delivery schedules and update shipment status to ensure timely arrival of goods for production.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Purchasing Manager and Officer.
- Generate monthly procurement reports and maintain the approved supplier list.
- Support procurement activities such as sourcing, negotiation, follow-ups, and expediting orders.
- Maintain accurate filing of purchasing records and documentation.
- Ensure the purchasing office remains neat and organized.
- Comply with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
- Take on additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum O Levels qualification.
- At least 1 year of purchasing experience, preferably in sourcing electrical components and spares within a manufacturing or electrical services company.
