[What the role is]

MANAGER / DEPUTY MANAGER, LICENSING OPERATIONS

[What you will be working on]

You will manage the team responsible for vocational licensing operations, ensuring the timely processing of vocational licence applications/renewal for taxi, private hire car and bus drivers, as well as bus attendants.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the review and implementation of vocational licensing policies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements while maintaining service excellence
  • Drive process optimisation initiatives through digitalisation and AI adoption, transforming the licensing operations to better serve the industry and the public
  • Manage end-to-end vocational licence applications/renewal, maintaining rigorous assessment standards while ensuring timely processing and exceptional customer service
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance customer experience, including streamlining application/renewal processes and improving service delivery channels
  • Oversee operational procurement and budget management, ensuring optimal resource allocation and compliance with procurement guidelines
  • Lead and contribute to strategic cross-functional initiatives while demonstrating flexibility in managing additional projects as directed by management

[What we are looking for]

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in operations management or public service delivery
  • Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated experience in process improvement and digital transformation initiatives
  • Excellence in stakeholder management with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate policies into effective operational procedures
  • Adaptable team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with experience in digital tools and systems
