Language Translator [English - Mandarin] (Work From Home)
  • Contract: 3 months (renewable depending on performance and business needs)
  • Location: Fully WFH (must be based in Singapore)
  • Work Days: 5 days a week, scheduled any day Monday–Sunday
  • Work Hours: 8-hour shifts within 9pm–9am (shift roster)
  • Salary: S$14/hour + S$5/hour WFH allowance

Requirements: Stable home WiFi + any smartphone / iPad / laptop

(Note: Huawei devices and Kaspersky software are not allowed.)

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be providing live interpretation between English and Mandarin over the phone for callers from the US and China. Think of it like being a bridge in real-time conversations.

You will:

  • Interpret conversations accurately and neutrally, without adding or leaving out information.
  • Stay calm and professional even during sensitive / emotional calls (e.g. 911 emergencies, medical discussions, end-of-life topics, vaccination and reproductive health conversations).
  • Listen carefully, take notes effectively, and ensure all meaning is carried across clearly.
  • Use clear pronunciation and polite language in both languages.
  • Offer cultural clarification only when asked or necessary to avoid miscommunication.
General Requirements
  • Based in Singapore, able to work fully from home.
  • Fluent in English & Mandarin (clear speech).
  • Able to stay calm and neutral during calls, including sensitive topics.
  • Good listening + note-taking skills.
  • Stable home WiFi.
  • Comfortable working overnight rostered shifts (9pm–9am).
  • Can use a smartphone / tablet / laptop
