Assistant Service Engineer – Component Overhaul

Location: Tukang, Singapore (West)

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Senior Technician / Assistant Service Engineer to join our Remanufacturing & Overhaul team in Singapore. This role is workshop-based and focused on the repair, overhaul, and testing of key engine components that support both classic and modern fleets in the region.

Key Accountabilities

• Perform mechanical repair, disassembly, reassembly, and overhaul of diesel engine components (e.g., cylinder heads, water pumps, turbochargers) in accordance with OEM standards.
• Ensure all repair work meets quality and turnaround time (TAT) targets.
• Support engine/component troubleshooting and functional testing during bench-test activities.
• Apply knowledge of fuel system components such as injectors, fuel pumps, and governors (added advantage).
• Conduct improvement projects to enhance productivity, safety, or process efficiency within the workshop.
• Liaise with Supervisors for technical clarifications when needed.
• Comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and internal safety protocols.
• Contribute to achieving department KPIs in quality, safety, efficiency, and throughput.

Qualifications

• Diploma / NITEC / ITE in Marine Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in diesel engine component overhaul or mechanical maintenance.
• Proficient in using common workshop tools (e.g., torque wrenches, powered hand tools).
• Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and ability to work independently under pressure.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• A team player with a collaborative and safety-first mindset.
