What you will be working on

Under the Capability & Organisation Department (COD), the Culture and Engagement team plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive work environment and enhancing employee satisfaction in the organisation. As a Culture and Engagement Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with this dynamic team and contribute to our efforts in making employees feel valued, motivated, and empowered to contribute to the organisation's success.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented intern to play a key role in preserving our organisation's rich history by helping to collate, catalogue, and archive historical artefacts and materials. Your work will contribute to the creation of a Heritage Corner — a space that celebrates our legacy and inspires future generations of staff.
As a Culture and Engagement Intern, your responsibilities will include:

• Collation & Documentation: Assist in gathering historical artefacts, documents, photographs, and memorabilia from various departments and sources.

• Archival System Development: Work with the team to design and implement a structured archival and search system for easy retrieval of historical items.

• Catalogue Management: Create detailed records (digital and physical) for each artefact, including descriptions and photographs.

• Heritage Corner Preparation: Contribute to the conceptualisation of the Heritage Corner, and support in the implementation of the project.

• Collaboration: You may need to liaise with internal stakeholders to source materials and stories to enrich exhibit narratives and internal communications.

• Other communication-related tasks: You may also be assigned to help with other communication and administrative support as needed.
Through this role, you will:

• Experience heritage work first-hand – pick up the best practices of handling, cataloguing, and preserving historical artefacts.

• Build research and archival skills – learn how to source and verify historical information, create detailed records, and develop logical systems for storage and retrieval.

• Learn exhibition planning – understand the creative and logistical steps in curating artefacts into engaging, visitor-friendly displays.

• Develop project coordination abilities – work with multiple stakeholders, balancing timelines to bring a multi-phase heritage project to life.

• Enhance storytelling skills – learn to transform facts and artefacts into compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

•Gain exposure to organisational culture work – understand how heritage connects with workplace pride and employee engagement.

What we are looking for

We value the diverse skills and perspectives that each intern brings. While you may not need to meet every requirement fully, having some familiarity or budding expertise in the following areas will help you make the most of this opportunity and succeed with our team.

• Currently pursuing studies in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.

• Interested in workplace culture, employee engagement, and organisational development.

• Interest in heritage, culture, and storytelling.

• Shows curiosity to learn about different approaches to fostering a positive work environment.

• Comfortable collaborating with diverse teams and building positive relationships.

• Communicates clearly, both in speaking and writing, and able to listen and empathise.

• Keeps work organised and pays attention to detail.

• Works well independently and with others, takes initiative without needing constant supervision.
Position is on a full-time internship basis from January 2026 to May 2026.
