We're hiring a Chief Operating Officer for a fast-growing biotech startup.

Cultivate is proud to partner with a Singapore-based biotechnology startup transforming agriculture through science.

Backed by a recent Series A and showing strong monthly revenue growth, the company is scaling fast and building solutions to help farmers boost productivity while tackling the global challenge of antibiotic resistance.

We're looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their small but growing team. The COO is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strategic thinking with operational excellence and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a scale-up environment.

You'll need solid experience managing P&Ls, running business operations end-to-end, and navigating supply chains across borders. An agriculture or biotech background is a plus, but a substantial commercial and execution track record is more important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of financial operations, including P&L, budget planning, and cash flow management.
  • Lead coordination with external accountants and internal accounts staff.
  • Oversee contract manufacturing, COGS optimisation, inventory tracking, and logistics.
  • Negotiate long-term supply chain contracts and identify efficiencies in production and distribution.
  • Partner with the CEO to land strategic partnerships and key enterprise deals.
  • Lead acquisition activity and oversee subsidiary performance.
  • Scope and potentially lead a new product vertical in the human food industry.
  • Support upcoming fundraising rounds by preparing investor materials and managing the data room.
  • Represent the company at industry events and lead grant/competition applications.
  • Guide brand, marketing, and digital strategy development.

The Experience and Skills Required:

  • Proven experience in operations or general management roles in startups or fast-growth environments.
  • Hands-on experience managing full P&L responsibility and financial planning.
  • Firm grasp of international supply chain operations and vendor management.
  • A highly commercial mindset with the ability to move fast, solve problems, and lead from the front.
  • Background in agriculture, food production, biotech or adjacent sectors is a bonus—not a requirement.
  • Strong communicator who thrives in dynamic, no-nonsense environments.
