Role Overview

We are seeking a capable and experienced Manager, EH&S to lead safety and environmental initiatives in a high-impact manufacturing environment. Reporting to the EHSS Director, this role involves both strategic oversight and hands-on management of EHSS systems, contractor safety programs, legal compliance, audits, and people development.

This position is ideal for a candidate with a solid foundation in EHSS practices, a proactive approach, and a passion for driving safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead contractor safety and oversee high-risk activity programs (e.g., working at height, hot work, electrical safety).

  • Ensure safe project execution in construction, commissioning, and validation stages.

  • Act as designated Fire Safety Manager and lead emergency preparedness activities.

  • Maintain EHSS management systems and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (SS651, MOM, SCDF, NEA, HSA, etc.).

  • Conduct risk assessments and support implementation of changes in safety practices.

  • Manage internal and external EHSS audits and liaise with regulatory bodies.

  • Oversee EHS metrics reporting and present updates to senior leadership.

  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.

  • Manage EHS training programs and regulatory qualifications.

  • Supervise and develop an EHSS sub-team to meet site objectives.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree with minimum 6 years of EH&S experience OR

  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 8 years of EH&S experience in manufacturing environments

  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer and Fire Safety Manager

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated industries

  • Familiarity with local EHS regulations and audit protocols

  • Strong leadership and team development skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced setting
