Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Professional

As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of employees, clients, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Policies and Procedures:
    • Create and update safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Develop strategies to achieve and maintain compliance with internal and external standards.
    • Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental management systems.
  • Risk Assessments and Inspections:
    • Identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace through regular inspections and assessments.
    • Evaluate risks and recommend corrective actions to eliminate or minimize hazards.
    • Conduct compliance checks against internal standards, regulatory requirements, and legislation.
    • Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Monitor compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
    • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and inspections.
    • Maintain documentation related to compliance.
    • Ensure proper management of hazardous waste and materials.
  • Safety Training and Awareness:
    • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees.
    • Promote a positive safety culture within the organization.
    • Conduct safety drills and awareness campaigns.
    • Provide guidance and support to employees on safety matters.
  • Incident Management and Reporting:
    • Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses.
    • Analyse incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
    • Prepare and submit incident reports to management and relevant authorities.
    • Manage emergency procedures like fire drills and first aid.
  • Environmental Protection:
    • Monitor and manage air, water, and waste management practices.
    • Promote sustainable practices and initiatives.
    • Develop and implement strategies to reduce environmental impact.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Review and analyse safety reports and data.
    • Supervise and lead a team, if applicable.
    • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends.
    • Manage safety and environmental programs related to specific projects.
