Full time attachment at one of our childcare centres in Singapore under mentorship with a mentor teacher, the trainee teacher will be coached through the apprentice program undergoing respective courses and will be able to assume the role as a Childcare Teacher upon completion of the course on the following:

Course requirements:

(Advanced Certificate in Early Years)

  • Local qualification - Completed Secondary 4 education and at least an average of SOA 5 in the Workplace Literacy series (WPL); either SOA 5 for WPL Writing or a GCE O-level credit in the English Language as First Language
  • Foreign Qualification - Completed 10 years of formal education and at least an average SOA 5 in the WPL series, either SOA 5 for WPL (Writing).

(Certificate in Infant Care)

  • Applicants with local Singapore academic qualifications must have completed at least Secondary Two (2) education.
  • For non-local Singapore academic qualifications, applicants must have completed at least eight (8) years of formal education.
  • Average SOA 4 in the WPL Series

Job responsibilities:

  • Plan, supervised and implement the programme for the class in accordance with the centre's policies and framework
  • Complete progress reports on children for each semester and prepares a developmental portfolio for each child
  • Set up and create a stimulating and engaging pleasant learning environment that promotes self-directed learning
  • Responsible for all aspects of classroom management and carrying out routine care duties to ensure the safety and hygiene of the children
  • Work closely with the other teaching staff in the class in carrying out the duties
  • Build and maintain a close partnership with parents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High tolerance level towards children is an advantage
  • Able to work well independently as well as within a team
