Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and manage structured training programmes for marine crew, including Tug/Launch Masters, Engineering Officers and Marine Assistants;
  • Coordinate and deliver training in safety, operations, and regulatory compliance, covering areas such as STCW, ISM Code, COLREGS, mooring operations and emergency response procedures;
  • Maintain up-to-date training records and ensure all crew certifications comply with statutory and company standards;
  • Conduct training needs analysis to identify skills or knowledge gaps and recommend appropriate interventions;
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, training institutions and accredited providers to arrange necessary courses and certification renewals;
  • Support the onboarding and orientation programmes for new hires, ensuring alignment with the company's operational standards and safety culture;
  • Organise and facilitate refresher courses, onboard drills and simulator-based training as needed;
  • Collaborate with vessel Masters and Fleet Managers to synchronize training schedules with operational requirements;
  • Assist in the development, review, and updating of Fleet Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety manuals, and training content;
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through crew assessments, post-training feedback and performance reviews.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must have minimum Diploma or Degree in Maritime studies or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications:-
    • Excel for tracking training data and certificate validity;
    • Word for developing training documentation and SOPs;
    • PowerPoint for creating and delivering structured presentations
  • Strong facilitation skills with confidence in conducting training for both small and large groups (typically 5 to 15 pax).
  • Experienced in evaluating training outcomes and adapting course materials to suit fleet-specific operational needs.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple training schedules and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Meticulous in tracking certification expiry dates and ensuring full compliance with maritime regulatory requirements.
  • Able to work cross-functionally with operations, crewing, technical and QHSSE teams to ensure training objectives are met.
