Role and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Civil Works and M&E Projects: Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to project requirements
  • Manage Daily Operations: Oversee all aspects of civil works projects, monitor progress, and ensure tasks are completed on time
  • Enforce Safety Protocols: Ensure all staff and members at the construction site strictly observe and follow safety protocols to minimize work-related accidents and injuries
  • Supervise Workers: Manage the work of sub-contractors and in-house workers, ensuring the quality of work meets acceptable standards
  • Identify and Mitigate Risks: Address any risks or issues that arise during the course of the project
  • Conduct Quality Inspections: Maintain quality control checks
  • Site Preparation: Provide necessary applications (permits) in advance and prepare site reports, designs, and drawings
  • Site Coordination: Coordinate with architects, engineers, and sub-contractors for tasks assigned

Experience:

  • Working experience in any type of construction site or environment is applicable

Technical Understanding:

  • A good understanding of architectural drawings is mandatory, with the ability to identify discrepancies in the drawings/designs
  • Ability to propose and counter offer multiple technical choices with their implications so that the Project Manager can select the right options to achieve their objectives
  • Besides civil works, the ability to provide value-engineering solutions would be a definite plus

Professional Skills:

  • Lead subordinates to achieve excellence in the project
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing changes within the project team effectively

Teamwork:

  • Reinforce the team, including sub-contractors, cohesively on internal initiatives
  • Support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the organization

Client Management:

  • Communicate effectively with consultants to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions to ensure quality
  • Ensure practices deliver superior solutions that meet project requirements and quality standards

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a relevant qualification in Civil Engineering
  • At least 5 years' site experience in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore's authority requirements, procedures, codes, and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, and 3D Solidworks (Plus)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and resourcefulness
  • Independent, diligent, and highly motivated with good interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and busy environment

A contract position for 2 years with potential to convert to permanent employment.
