This is an unpaid voluntary role, as with all positions at BCI.
The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is a forward-thinking think tank dedicated to leveraging blockchain technology to address the global challenges posed by climate change.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented **Legal Assistant** to join our team. This role will primarily involve providing support to the legal team in conducting legal research, managing legal documents, and assisting with administrative tasks.
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for the legal team.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of legal documents, such as contracts and agreements.
- Manage and maintain the legal department's database and filing system.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including drafting correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining calendars.
- Coordinate legal team meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
- Assist with the coordination and preparation of legal presentations and workshops.
- Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments related to blockchain technology and climate change.

- Bachelor's degree in law or a related field.
**Skills & Abilities**
- Excellent English writing skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships, work flexibly across professional and operational boundaries, and communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with legal research databases and tools.
- Knowledge of blockchain technology and/or climate change is preferred.
- Previous experience in a legal or administrative role is a plus.
**General & Specialist Knowledge**
- Strong interest in topics central to BCI, such as climate change, climate finance and blockchain technology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
