Logistics Officer

Role Purpose

Undertake the operational activities and logistics requirements in the management of our containers in Singapore and meet the service expectations of our customers, HQ LOG, internal stakeholders and vendors.

Role Accountabilities

• Assist in monitoring Singapore container stock and movements in our contracted depots.
• Arrange repositions of empty containers upon HQ Log's instructions.
• Ensure containers are utilized on FIFO basis.
• Arrange trucking with depots on import and export of empty containers including Booking creation in PSA Portnet, JPOnline, Work Orders (WO) and Transportation for Dispatch Notice (TDN), service BL creation and closing of manifest.
• Arrange offhires based on disposal instructions of containers and/or instructions from HQ Logs.
• Ensure Singapore container stock is sufficient and coordinate on-hire formality with HQ Logs when container stock is in deficit.
• Liaise with load port and/or planner for any discrepancies in container number, duplicate number, incorrect size/type, etc.
• Ensure that container movements are accurately updated in the in-house system within 48 hours of activity date/time.
• Arrange container surveys including on/off hires, sublease, redelivery, damaged units, etc .
• Assist HQ Log on ancillary matters such as container seals, reefer spares distribution, sale of container, lowbed trucking, bundling & unbundling of flatracks.
• Send load summary/details to Transhipment team, Finance team and HQ Logistics.
• Liaise with 3rd party on claim issues on logistics matters and pursue on M&R recoveries against cargo interest where appropriate.
• Assist in advising local booking team on which container depot for shippers to collect empty containers from, especially for Special Equipment i.e Reefers, Opentops, Flatracks, basis FIFO and stock availability.
• Liaise with local booking team closely to ensure bookings are correctly forecasted.
• Weekly stock forecast report to HQ Logs.
• Monthly reporting to HQ Logs (trucking, repositions, direct off-hire, feeder rates savings reports).
• Submit accurate Haulage Expense Report (HCN) for each trucking job order.
• Verify vendor's invoices and costs relating to logistics expenses in Mediusflow and CVP systems and raise Purchase Orders in SAP system.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the manager.

Key Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications

•  Preferably a Diploma holder / GCE 'A" level.
•  Some shipping or forwarding background will be advantageous.

Technical Skills/ Professional Skills

•  PC literate and proficient in MS Excel/Words/Outlook.
•  Must be organized with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
•  Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
