Focus of the Internship:

Experience Analysis:

  • Help to review the claims/expense experience of Singlife's Group Life and Medical portfolio
  • Derive assumptions which form key inputs to group scheme pricing
  • Draw observations/conclusions to help improve/drive profitability of the company

Group Pricing:

  • Assist with pricing of bespoke affinity and employee benefit schemes, ensuring profit target and risk appetite of the company is adhered to
  • Negotiate with reinsurers where reinsurance support is required

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in data collection from business units, conduct verification and analysis of data to generate insights

  • Help to derive pricing assumptions and assisting in producing a report communicating results to key stakeholders such as the Appointed Actuary for approval
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Key Learnings:

  • Understanding of the Actuarial Control Cycle
  • Working experience of data analysis and management
  • Pick up project management and collaboration skills

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistic or other related disciplines
  • Strong writing and communication skills with good command of English
  • Able to work independently in a dynamic environment while adhering to a stipulated timeline
  • Good project management skills
  • Proficient in MsOffice (i.e PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc). Knowledge in statistical software such as R is an advantage
  • Preferably with internship of at least 2 months duration and extendable to 3 months or more
