The Opportunity
Faculty Digital is a digital consulting agency dedicated to building best-in-class digital products that drive results for our clients. We are looking for a highly motivated and self-directed Technical Project Manager to join our team.
This is a critical, hands-on role for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can communicate fluently with both developers and clients, and is passionate about shipping high-quality mobile and web applications. You will be the central pillar for project delivery, working independently to manage timelines, budgets, and a distributed global development team.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Leadership: Independently lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple digital projects, with a strong focus on native mobile applications (iOS/Android) and large-scale, CMS-driven websites (e.g., AEM, Contentful, Sitecore).
- Agile & Scrum Management: Champion and meticulously manage Agile (Scrum/Kanban) ceremonies for your projects. You will own the product backlog, plan sprints, manage tickets in Jira, and facilitate retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement.
- Remote Team Management: Effectively lead, motivate, and collaborate with geographically distributed/remote development teams. You will be responsible for ensuring clear communication, high productivity, and a positive team culture across time zones.
- Technical Liaison: Act as the primary technical bridge between clients and the development team. Translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria that your dev team can execute on.
- DevOps & Release Coordination: Collaborate closely with technical leads to oversee the DevOps pipeline. You will ensure best practices for CI/CD, automated testing, and release management are followed to deliver high-quality code efficiently to various environments.
- Autonomous Problem-Solving: Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation with minimal supervision. Proactively identify and mitigate risks, remove blockers for your team, and never wait to be told what to do next.
- Client Relationship Management: Build strong, trusted relationships with clients. Manage stakeholder expectations, provide transparent and regular status reports, and serve as a strategic advisor on technical and project decisions.
What We're Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years as a Technical Project Manager, or Scrum Master, ideally within a digital agency or technology consultancy.
- Mobile App Delivery: Proven, hands-on experience managing the full lifecycle of native mobile app projects (iOS and/or Android), from design to successful App Store/Play Store launch.
- CMS Project Experience: Demonstrable experience managing the development of complex, content-managed websites using enterprise or headless CMS platforms.
- Agile Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and associated tools (eg. Jira, Confluence).
- Remote Team Leadership: A strong track record of successfully managing remote, offshore, or distributed development teams.
- Autonomy & Drive: A highly autonomous, proactive, and self-motivated work ethic. You are a natural problem-solver who thrives on responsibility and works effectively with little supervision.
- Technical Fluency: A solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), mobile app architecture, web technologies, and API-driven integrations.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- DevOps Knowledge: Direct experience with, or a strong conceptual understanding of, DevOps principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Certifications: CSM (Certified ScrumMaster), PMP, or related Agile/PM certifications.
- Technical Background: A previous background as a developer, QA engineer, or systems administrator.
- Platform Specifics: Experience with specific platforms like Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Sitecore, Contentful, or Strapi.
