Job Summary

The Plant Engineer (Mechanical) is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant's mechanical systems and equipment. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, supporting plant projects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and overall plant performance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical plant equipment such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, piping systems, and rotating machinery.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (electrical, instrumentation, operations) to ensure seamless plant operations.
  • Review mechanical design, specifications, and drawings for plant modifications, upgrades, and expansion projects.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards, statutory regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage external contractors and vendors for repair works, equipment servicing, and project execution.
  • Support the plant manager in budget planning, spare parts inventory control, and technical documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in plant engineering, mechanical maintenance, or rotating equipment in a manufacturing, petrochemical, or process plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and piping standards.
  • Familiar with reliability engineering practices, maintenance planning, and safety management systems.
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) standards and statutory requirements in Singapore.

Preferred Attributes
  • Hands-on experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and plant optimization practices.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
