Job Description

CNBC is seeking an experienced Reporter/Anchor, India based in Singapore to generate enterprise business stories, deliver them on TV, and contribute to digital and social platforms. You will be responsible for newsgathering, building relationships internally and externally, writing and producing key business stories, and fronting the delivery for all platforms. With India as your primary focus, you must have proven experience in reporting on its economy, markets, and business landscape. You will also be responsible for developing a strong network of sources to generate proprietary stories unique to CNBC.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Act as the lead India television reporter/anchor to news-gather and develop stories for on-air and digital platforms
2. Produce and report stories from the field
3. Write and contribute digital articles for publication on
4. Write clean, clear, and accurate news copy
5. Develop financial and business news knowledge
6. Contribute and develop story ideas and develop and invite guests to CNBC shows
7. Conduct live hits and conversations on CNBC shows on beat subject matter
8. Develop sources and generate independent reporting
9. Work closely with each member of the production team (TV, Digital, and Social), news editors, other anchors, reporters, and correspondents, and operations staff
10. Contribute to show planning, production, and execution, stepping in as needed
11. Work with newsroom management to drive daily editorial agenda for CNBC shows
12. Work with the company's marketing department to promote CNBC
13. Flexibility to work different shifts and over some weekends to cover breaking news, events, and other business needs
14. Willingness to travel overseas for reporting, often on short notice

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in business and/or financial news writing and reporting live, breaking news
• Experience in presenting and adapting stories across multiple platforms
• In-depth knowledge of business news, financial markets, and global current affairs
• Ability to handle deadline pressure and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Proficient in written and spoken English for writing and editing scripts

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

While not essential, candidates with experience or proficiency in the following tend to excel:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Familiarity with newsroom systems and applications
• Background in working for a leading wire service or business news organization
