**What the role is**
Assistant Engineer, Vehicle Safety Control
**What you will be working on**
You will be administrating the vehicle recall system to ensure that motor dealers/importers notify owners of vehicles affected by vehicle safety recall and make arrangement for the rectification works, and update LTA on the progress of the rectification works. You will need to perform hands-on tasks such as inspection of motor vehicles for illegal modifications and roadworthiness, as well as to carry out audits on motor dealers, LTA's authorised inspection centres and LTA-appointed vehicle scrap yard operators. You will address public enquiries and feedback on vehicle safety requirements and vehicle engineering policies. You will also be supporting the Engineers on vehicle recalls matters (e.g., keeping abreast of latest vehicle recalls initiatives), studies and conducting research on new vehicle technology and standards, as well as implementing measures to improve systems and processes that support the recall, inspection, and approval of vehicles.
**What we are looking for**
- Able to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic environment
- Service-oriented, and possess good communication, writing and interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge of vehicle technology and automotive engineering will be an advantage
