The Electromechanical Technician installs, maintains, tests, and repairs mechanical and electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. This role bridges the gap between mechanical and electrical disciplines, supporting design engineers, production teams, and maintenance operations. The technician ensures that electromechanical devices — such as automation systems, robotics, manufacturing equipment, or control systems — operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electromechanical systems, automated machinery, and production equipment.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.

Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, sensors, actuators, and control circuits.

Calibrate instruments and test equipment to ensure accuracy and performance.

Assist in developing, modifying, and improving equipment or production processes.

Collaborate with engineers to build and test prototypes or new systems.

Maintain detailed maintenance logs, test records, and documentation.

Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards during all technical operations.

Support continuous improvement initiatives for system reliability and productivity.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience:

Minimum: Associate's degree or diploma in Electromechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent technical experience.

Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in electromechanical maintenance, automation, or equipment testing (entry-level roles may accept recent graduates with internships or technical training).

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical systems.

Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), sensors, relays, and control systems.

Familiarity with robotics, servo motors, and motion control systems.

Ability to use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, and gauges.

Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems.

Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.

Basic understanding of CAD or automation software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, LabVIEW) is an advantage.

Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems.
