QUANTITY SURVEYOR (Construction, Main-Con)

Key Responsibilities

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on the scope, drawings, and specifications provided
  • Develop Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and cost plans to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting
  • Conduct cost analysis and provide value engineering solutions to optimize costs without compromising on quality
  • Ensuring proper checks and endorsements for all costing and payments
  • Monitoring project costs and expenditures to ensure they stay within the available budget

Tendering and Procurement

  • Prepare tender documents, including BoQs, specifications, and contract terms
  • Assist in evaluating tenders and recommending the most cost-effective solutions for procurement
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with contractors and suppliers

Project Management

  • Manage purchase orders of materials and verify site requests to align with project requirements and timelines
  • Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Coordinate closely with subcontractors on progress of work in line with project timeline and requirements
  • Monitoring and measuring subcontractors' work and assisting in certifying valuations
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective project delivery
  • Track changes to the project scope and prepare cost-impact assessments for variations

Financial Reporting:

  • Preparing and following up monthly progress claims in a timely manner
  • Evaluating progress payments and variation orders (Vos)
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing and payment processing in line with project progress
  • Develop and maintain project financial reports, including cost-to-complete estimates, cash flow forecasts, and financial projections

Job Requirements:

· Diploma in Building or its equivalent

· years and above experience as QS in main-con companies

· Proven ability in contract negotiation, contract administration & variation orders

· Able to work independently, be meticulous, analytical with excellent problem-solving skills, proactive, a good team player & able to meet tight deadlines

· Able to write and converse reasonably well in English (must)
