Job responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation, negotiation, and administration of high-value EPC contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements across all project phases.
- Serve as the primary liaison for all contractual matters, ensuring effective communication with internal stakeholders and external parties.
- Provide strategic contractual and commercial guidance to tender teams, project teams, and senior management.
- Monitor contract performance, ensuring alignment with milestones, deliverables, and compliance requirements.
- Manage formal communications including notices, variations, change orders, and amendments in coordination with legal and project teams.
- Maintain and update key registers such as tender clarifications and change orders, ensuring timely follow-up and circulation.
- Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct commercial awareness sessions to enhance project team understanding of contractual obligations and risk exposure.
- Support cost control and invoicing processes by providing necessary contractual documentation and follow-up for payments.
- Assist in subcontractor and supplier tendering, bid evaluations, and contract finalization.
- Closely liaise with insurance department to obtain project insurances in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of contracts, correspondence, and related documentation.
- Uphold compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare project close out report liaising with various project disciplines for submission to clients.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks related to contract, subcontract, and tender management as required.
Work experience requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of relevant project experience in medium to large-scale Oil & Gas (including FPSO) or Wind Energy sectors, with 5 years in a Contract Specialist or Contract Advisor role.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying or equivalent.
Other skills:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Suite and ability to adapt quickly to new IT Tools.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in managing a contract team in a large-scale project environment.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills to assess project performance and identify potential contractual and commercial risks.
- Effective leadership skills.
- Effective communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with people across various cultures.
- Ability to travel at short notice / perform overtime work as required.
