Duties & Responsibilities

Quality Control & Laboratory Operations:

  • Lead and execute routine QC testing and analyses of packaging materials, raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with company specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g. sensory evaluation, moisture analyses, density, refractive index, etc)
  • Perform day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance of all test results.
  • Conduct calibration, verification, and preventive maintenance of laboratory instruments (e.g., balances, titrators, densitometers, refractometers) to maintain precision and reliability of results.
  • Manage the timely release of packaging, raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, balancing lead-time requirements with strict adherence to quality and food safety standards to support uninterrupted business flow.

Quality Assurance Operations & Compliance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency in laboratory and quality processes.
  • Implement and uphold quality control and quality assurance procedures aligned with company policies and industry standards.
  • Investigate non-conformances and out-of-specification (OOS) results, and support or conduct root cause analyses.
  • Implement and monitor environmental monitoring programs, ensuring proactive detection and control of potential risks.
  • Support pest control management activities, including reviewing service provider reports, tracking corrective actions, and following up on unresolved issues.

Continuous Improvement & Business Support:

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, optimize operational efficiency, and promote a safe and sustainable workplace.
  • Collaborate within team or with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and risk.
  • Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the superior to support Quality Control and Quality Assurance objectives.

Experience

At least Diploma in Food Science, Chemistry, or related courses with at least 2 years of relevant experience in flavor or food and beverage manufacturing industry

Competencies

  • Understanding of quality control and assurance principles in flavor, food or beverage manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory testing methods and instruments (balances, titrators, refractometers, densitometers, etc.).
  • Proficiency in calibration, verification, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis, manage non-conformances, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring and pest control management programs.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office or laboratory data management systems (SAP).
