Overview:
We are looking for an Analyst that will support the regional and global Analytics team in conducting cross-barrel oil analysis, reporting directly to the Head of Analytics and providing direct support to commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze data to inform trading decisions, with a focus on maintaining oil product balances and requiring proficiency in refining operations and economics.
- Utilize SQL, Python, Tableau, and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Construct and maintain fundamental databases for petroleum product balances.
- Calculate key arbitrage indicators, margins, and conduct ad-hoc price analysis.
- Analyze refinery turnarounds and cargo trade flows, collaborating with the global Analytics team.
- Automate tasks where possible and create presentations on global and regional product balances.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks, including data gathering and business development support.
Qualifications:
- Experience in research and analytics, preferably within a trading firm or oil major.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint.
- Understanding of refining processes and economics preferred.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel modeling, statistical analysis using R or Python, SQL databases, and Tableau visualization.
