Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mandarin Teacher to join our team and contribute to the holistic development of our students. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and supportive environment, ensuring the well-being of the students in our care. You will play a crucial role in providing academic support, fostering positive social skills, and promoting a love for learning.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Care:

  2. Provide a safe and secure environment for students during non-school hours.

  3. Ensure the well-being of students by monitoring their activities and addressing any health or safety concerns.

  4. Academic Support:

  5. Assist students with homework and assignments, offering guidance and clarification when needed.

  6. Facilitate and encourage a love for learning through engaging educational activities.

  7. Social and Emotional Development:

  8. Foster positive relationships among students and promote a sense of community.

  9. Address behavioral issues through positive reinforcement and constructive communication.
  10. Encourage the development of social skills, empathy, and emotional intelligence.

Organisational Tasks:

  • Plan and organise age-appropriate activities, events, and programs that contribute to students' holistic development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and progress.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to coach primary level Mandarin curriculum. Proficiency in multiple subjects for multiple levels is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting is ideal but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the well-being and development of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff.

Working Conditions:

  • Permanent part-time position averaging 5 hours per day during the school term with longer paid hours during school holidays.
