Job Description

  • Assist in managing daily processing-plant operations, ensuring production targets are met.
  • Coordinate across Operations, Maintenance, and Safety, to ensure smooth, integrated plant operations.
  • Monitor and improve operational performance (capacity utilization, process efficiency, yield, downtime, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) regulations and internal policies; lead or support incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Support quality control/assurance to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
  • Assist in budgeting, cost monitoring, and forecasting for operations; control operating costs without compromising safety or quality.
  • Monitor inventory of raw materials, work in progress (WIP) and finished goods; ensure availability, optimization and traceability.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.) to streamline operations and reduce waste.
  • Support manpower planning, scheduling, shift operations, and staff deployment; provide training, coaching, and performance management for supervisors/operators.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports; prepare performance metrics and present to management.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained; collaborate with Maintenance to schedule preventive maintenance and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Administer Management of Change (MOC) for process/equipment changes; support PSSR/commissioning/start-ups.
  • Assist with small capex, trials, and technology upgrades; prepare business cases as needed
  • Undertake other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Process, Mechanical, or related) or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years of experience in process/chemical plant operations; supervisory/junior management exposure preferred.
  • Solid understanding of HSE regulations and demonstrated safety leadership.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) and process optimization.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills: motivate teams, resolve conflicts, manage performance.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and data-driven; able to review data, identify trends, and use metrics to make decisions.
  • Proficiency with operations/planning tools /process control system.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel (pivot tables, lookups, charts) and PowerPoint.
