About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our talented culinary team at JADE COMMERCIAL SERVICES' based in Singapore General Hospital, Central Region SG. As Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our hospital's patients, staff and visitors.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assisting the Executive Chef in managing and coordinating the kitchen team
  2. Overseeing the preparation and presentation of all food items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
  3. Ensuring strict adherence to health, safety and hygiene regulations
  4. Collaborating with the team to develop and implement new menu items and culinary concepts
  5. Providing training and guidance to kitchen staff to continuously improve their skills and performance
  6. Maintaining accurate inventory records and placing orders for necessary supplies
  7. Troubleshooting any issues that arise in the kitchen and implementing effective solutions

What we're looking for

  1. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role
  2. Formal culinary training or a recognised chef's qualification
  3. Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu planning and cost control
  4. Strong leadership and team management skills
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  6. Passion for creating exceptional dining experiences and a commitment to delivering high-quality results
  7. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing demands
