
Senior /Therapy Aide

Responsibilities:
- Assist therapists in assessing patients' status for suitability to start therapy sessions or continue with therapy sessions.
- Assist therapists in carrying out treatment plans either individually or in a group setting.
- Communicate relevant information regarding therapy sessions timely, e.g. vital signs, symptoms.
- Educate clients on the use of therapeutic aids or assistive devices as prescribed by therapists.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions as instructed by therapists.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy areas, including inventories and equipment for the department.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform therapy plans as instructed by therapists.
- Prepare patients, materials and equipment for therapy.
- Assist patients with personal care and hygiene needs as required.
- Plan the daily driving route to transport patients to and from the Day Care Centre in a safe and timely manner.
- To work closely with the van escort to always provide a safe and comfortable journey for patients
- Notify the Day Care manager immediately of any observed safety concerns or behavioural issues from the patients during the van journey.
- Comply with all road safety regulations of the Traffic Police.
- Undertake to keep oneself well-informed on updated traffic guidelines and road diversions / new roads to aid in the efficient planning of driving routes.
- Assist in the planning and execution of transport arrangements for all patient outings.
- Ensure that the maintenance schedule for all vans is adhered to.
- Maintain accurate records of van routes, mileage, equipment inspections and maintenance and repair logs on a regular basis.
Requirement:
- Minimum O / N Level.
- Certificate in Therapy Services / Support or NITEC in Community Care & Social Services preferred.
- Preferably 3 years relevant working experience in healthcare setting.
- Preferably bilingual and ability to communicate in local dialects.
- Possess strong sense of responsibility for safety, compassionate, considerate and courteous towards patients.
- Possess strong passion to serve.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Possess a valid Class 3 driving licence and a Vocational Driving Licence with minimum 2 years driving experience.
