Pelagus 3D (A thyssenkrupp – Wilhelmsen joint venture). Pelagus leverages digital manufacturing to provide on-demand spare parts for the maritime and offshore industries. A core product to our service is the B2B Pelagus Platform that integrates our ecosystem user groups including vessel and offshore asset operators, equipment manufacturers, and fabricators to orchestrate fabrication activities.

About the Role

We are looking for a curious and driven Engineering & Automation Intern to join our team at Pelagus 3D. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our manufacturing & supply chain, quality, and engineering teams to support a range of innovation and improvement projects. This internship offers hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing, automation, and machine learning applications within a fast-growing tech environment.

What You'll Do

As an intern, you will play an active role in developing and enhancing key engineering initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of a machine learning tool aimed at process simplification and pricing estimation.
  • Learning to analyse and prepare drawings and parts for Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM).
  • Reviewing and validating our manufacturing network, ensuring data accuracy and generating meaningful insights.
  • Analysing and updating requirements from industry specifications related to on-demand manufacturing.

Who You'll Work With

You will report directly to the Additive Manufacturing Engineering team and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Pelagus 3D.

What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you meet the following:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • Knowledge of conventional and additive manufacturing technologies (preferred).
  • Exposure to machine learning tools through coursework or projects (preferred).
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proactive team player who can also work independently on challenging tasks and deadlines.
  • Service-oriented mindset with initiative and strong interpersonal skills.
