*About the Role*

We are seeking an elite Technical Director / Chief Architect to lead our high-performance IT department and own the end-to-end architecture, performance, and reliability of one of the world's top domain drop-catching systems. This is a hands-on leadership role at the CTO level — you will be responsible for designing ultra-high concurrency systems, leading a specialised technical team, and ensuring our global drop-catching success rate remains in the top 3 worldwide.

*Work Hours*

Afternoon to early morning, including support during drop-catching windows (02:00am–04:00am SGT)

*Job Responsibilities*

  1. Develop and maintain the domain drop-catching system, ensuring stable operations and maintaining a global top 3 success rate.

  2. Define optimization plans for the drop-catching process, obtain company approval, and implement them smoothly.

  3. Monitor daily drop-catching performance, analyze logs, and report on system status and planning.

  4. Conduct eBPF kernel performance inspections and submit optimization patches to improve system infrastructure.

  5. Organize cross-departmental requirement meetings on the user side, confirm solutions, and prioritize tasks.

  6. Write core user-side code, confirm logic, and audit project code.

  7. Develop, maintain, and optimize the EPP system; implement ICANN-related changes promptly to ensure the domain business process is compliant and orderly.

  8. Establish training and succession plans for project team members and list actionable steps for implementation.

  9. Ensure zero major security incidents for all online projects daily and pass all security audits.

  10. Oversee routine inspection and maintenance of all project servers, architecture, and applications.

  11. Assign work to staff and perform other management tasks.

  12. Handle other ad-hoc technical matters.

*Job Requirements*

  1. Over 10 years of backend high-concurrency systems, architecture, and technical management experience, with at least 5 years focused on the domain industry (DropCatch, Backorder, WHOIS, EPP, DNSSEC).

  2. Personally designed and deployed a domain drop-catching or similar real-time bidding system with a peak ≥ 100,000 QPS; able to provide real peak load screenshots.

  3. Deep understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack; capable of tuning architecture in C language from setsockopt to TCP_FASTOPEN; familiar with Linux Kernel 6.x networking subsystem code.

  4. Proficient in PHP (PHP-FPM/ZTS/Swoole), Java (Netty/JDK 21), and C (epoll/io_uring/eBPF) development; able to deliver the same functionality in all three languages within the same week as a PoC.

  5. Experience integrating with EPP/RDE/RSNG interfaces of global registries (Verisign, PIR, Donuts, CNNIC, etc.); familiar with all error codes and retry strategies.

  6. Experience in technical forensics for domain disputes (UDRP/URS/CCPS); able to locate and recover a maliciously transferred domain within 2 hours.

  7. Proven ability to maintain microsecond-level global top 3 drop-catching success rate; able to locate core system issues and faults within 10 minutes (24/7 response required). Due to the special timing of drop-catching, working hours are from afternoon until early morning; must be on-site during drop-catching hours (02:00–04:00, SGT) to handle issues and optimize processes.

  8. Skilled in training LSTM models on WHOIS changes, DNS query frequency, and registry SRS logs to predict domain deletion times ≥ 30 seconds in advance with ≤ 5 ms error.

  9. Developed an "automatic root cause attribution" system for failed drop-catches, identifying issues (e.g., network jitter, registry rate-limiting, expired certificates, or premium domain policy changes) within 3 seconds.

  10. Designed a "TCP backpressure circuit breaker" mechanism: automatically downgrade to a backup line when RTT spikes by 20%, ensuring no drop in success rate.

  11. Full black-box and white-box reverse engineering capabilities for all backend user-side systems outside of drop-catching.

  12. Ability to assess product, operations, and user requests, produce technical implementation plans, deploy new features quickly, ensure zero-risk code, and meet logical requirements.

  13. Personally built a technical team of 10+ members (backend, SRE, kernel, security, data) from scratch, maintaining zero-fault releases of core systems.

  14. Degree in Computer Science or related field.

  15. Proficient in Chinese language for key stakeholder communication.

*Preferred Qualifications*

  1. Maintains a DNS/network open-source project on GitHub with ≥ 5,000 stars.

  2. Published technical papers or given presentations at industry conferences (SIGCOMM/NSDI/IMC) on TCP congestion control or DNS performance optimization.

  3. Holds CISSP + RHCA + CKA triple certifications.

  4. Written core SRS (Shared Registry System) code at the registry level.

  5. Personally expanded BGP Anycast nodes from 3 to 30 while maintaining a 99.999% annual SLA.

  6. Familiar with implementing international cryptographic standards SM2/SM3/SM4 in DNSSEC.

  7. Served as a DEFCON/BlackHat lecturer, with live demonstrations of DNS tunneling attacks and defenses.
