Role Overview:
The Business Development Director for VCC leads the commercial and strategic efforts to significantly grow the Company's business centered around one of the firm's Variable Capital Companies (VCCs). This role is responsible for expanding assets under management (AUM), securing institutional mandates, and developing new markets for that specific strategy. The Director drives sales strategies, cultivates high-value client relationships, and manages subscriptions to meet ambitious revenue and growth targets. Sales are tracked on a monthly basis followed by management review.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute growth strategies focused on the expansion of a specific credit strategy.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities involving that VCC with international institutional clients.
- Lead the sales to generate and source investments aligned with company goals and market opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, clients, and strategic partners in relevant markets.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including product development, legal, compliance, and marketing to secure new investments.
- Report on a monthly basis to assess sales progress.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to VCCs and maintain up-to-date knowledge of VCC legislation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Must have a deep network amongst Single Family Offices in Singapore and Southeast Asia in general.
- Proven experience (10 years) in business development or sales leadership, in asset management, financial services, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of the VCC framework, regulatory environment, and investment landscape.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead sales and drive results in a competitive, fast-paced market.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market opportunities and develop actionable plans.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; advanced qualifications are a plus.
