Programme Director

- Develop and implement station format and programme strategies by reviewing listener trends and matching them with the broad directions approved by management
- Ensure the achievement of agreed station ratings objectives by monitoring performance on a regular basis
- Ensure the quality and appropriateness of radio stations' content by overseeing and driving content and supervising station's music selection/rotation, programme elements and promotions to ensure high quality control of station format
- Grow the listener base by developing innovative and creative programmes that appeal to listeners. Keep up to date on industry knowledge of the market as well as listeners' profiles, lifestyles and preferences, by reviewing trends and market developments and understanding their implications on MediaCorp Radio business unit.
- Oversee and curate content across the station's social media platforms together with the social media planning team to ensure alignment with Love 972's brand identity and programming strategy, fostering audience engagement and extending the station's reach beyond traditional broadcasts.
- Conceptualize and develop station-led events and campaigns that enhance Love 972's market positioning, deepen listener engagement, and strengthen the station's presence within the community.
- Maintain and enhance professional competence thru training and development, mentoring, coaching, as well as providing constructive feedback for the team regularly through air checks and programme post-mortems
- Work with Sales, Partnerships & Events and Digital departments to increase and facilitate airtime and sponsorship commitments on the station, while maintaining high programming standards
- Adhere to compliances to policies and rules by monitoring the team's compliance with programming codes on a regular basis and taking corrective actions where appropriate
Qualifications
- 8 to 10 years of working experience
- Degree with minimum 5 years' broadcasting / media experience
- Excellent understanding of audience's lifestyles and preferences & music knowledge
- Strong understanding of social media and able to use it effectively to promote station's interests
- Excellent language skills in Chinese required to manage the Chinese Radio Station
- Excellent project management, leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent relationship management, presentation, negotiation, communications and interpersonal skills
