Senior DevOps Engineer (Applications) (24-Month Contract)

Location: Central, Singapore 

Salary: Up to SGD 7,000/month 

About the Role

We're seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer (Applications) to own the reliability, patching, security posture, and run operations of one or two mission-critical enterprise applications. You'll stand up and operate HA production environments (e.g., WebSphere in PROD), participate in architecture/design sessions on integrations (Web Services, MQ, SFTP; government interfaces), and drive container-centric deployments with solid DevSecOps practices.

What You'll Do

  • Own 1–2 application products end-to-end: ops run, monitoring, application-level patching, post-patch verification, housekeeping/archival.
  • Platform & OS: set up WebSphere in HA for production; OS-level patching on RHEL/Windows; execute backup & recovery.
  • Integrations & architecture: contribute in solution/architecture sessions; advise on web services, MQ, SFTP and government interface patterns.
  • Containers: provision containers, manage image/registry lifecycle, and deploy container-centric services.
  • Enterprise architectures: help maintain web application and microservices architectures at scale.
  • DevSecOps & process: apply tooling/automation, define/iterate operational processes, and enforce hardening & security scanning to government standards.

Core Requirements

  • Proven experience with WebSphere setup in HA and patching/maintenance in PROD.
  • Familiar with container provisioning, images & repository lifecycle, and deployments.
  • Working knowledge of DevSecOps tooling (e.g., GitHub/GitLab, Bamboo, SonarQube, security scanning).
  • Hands-on RHEL/Windows application administration & setup (able to take over and run environments).
  • Experience maintaining at-scale enterprise web/microservices architectures.
  • Comfortable with command line & scripting (Shell, PowerShell).
  • Strong grasp of full web app stack: SSO, web server, app server, database, and supporting components.
  • Ability to define operational processes and produce/run runbooks for BAU, incidents, change, and problem management.
