Unilever is currently hiring for a Global Assistant Brand Manager - Lifebuoy Masterbrand and Premium Platforms based in Singapore.
ROLE BACKGROUND
Lifebuoy, the world's first health soap launched in 1894 by William Lever, pioneered affordable hygiene in Victorian England. Lifebuoy is world's #1 selling germ protection soap, and the only brand rooted in Hygiene within Unilever Personal Care. Thus, our role in the category will be to continue to hold onto our leadership position in this space by ensuring we also transform with the changing consumer landscape post COVID – transforming to a Skin Protection brand.
Lifebuoy is on a journey of transformation – specially post the Covid pandemic from only germ protection for internal illnesses to skin protection – it will enable us to play with a larger portfolio enabling us to cater to new audiences beyond just families and play in more premium benefit spaces of skin health. Our aim is to significantly change the portfolio construct by 20230, moving Premium portfolio contribution FROM current 19% TO 30 %. And in the process, structurally and sustainably move towards more Margin Accretive portfolio. Resulting in the below architecture
JOB PURPOSE

This role sits in the Global Lifebuoy BG Marketing team and will primarily focus on developing innovations and communications for the premium platform initiatives and being the Masterbrand Lead for the brand. In particular, the successful candidate will be managing our current premium line extension – Lifebuoy Project Emerald - with scope to work on exciting new premium formats beyond just the basic shower gel and bar soap with room for experimentation (E-commerce, Designed for Channel, Social Media Communication development, etc). Further, this role will involve holding the Global Masterbrand streams of work – which will include setting the brand visual identity and building the brand book and guidelines that will be followed across the globe. The role reports to Global Brand Manager – Lifebuoy, Masterbrand and Premium platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be part of the BG Marketing , Lifebuoy Global Team based in Vietnam – but will collaborate with teams based in other key locations like the R&D Hub in Mumbai and with teams in key markets like India, Indonesia and Vietnam .
More Specifically, you will be accountable for the following:
- As Masterbrand Lead on the Brand
Support the Brand Manager to define the new Brand Visual identity aligned to the new Lifebuoy Brand Key working closely with our design and communication agencies.
Support the Brand Manager to craft and bring to life the LONG term Brand Strategy and Destination Portfolio in our 3 design markets.
Provide sharp and clear Brand Guidelines and Guidance to Market to enable consistent multiyear execution to build strong brand equity - Global Project leader for Premium innovation projects including driving overall project, network management, business case development and gatekeeping to ensure On Time in Full and successful launch.
- Working on road map for future growth by identifying key trends and consumer insights, translating them into growth opportunities in the Lifebuoy markets.
- Effectively partnering with cross functional teams (CMI, R&D, Supply Chain, Artwork Excellence, Fragrance Team) to ensure successful and OTIF launches.
- Collaborate with agency partners ( Mullen LOWE and Elmwood plus others) to craft successful communication with best-in-class digital & content strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
- At least - 3+ years' experience in Marketing across Global & Local Marketing, including leading Global projects
- Strong consumer insight analysis skills, combined with a creative acumen to develop product mix that works for the brand and for the market
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork skills to deliver as one team
- Business acumen (Strong framework and Logical, Analytical Thinking & Rigour) with an entrepreneurship mindset
- Skilled in Innovation management and INNOFLEX Gate Keeping
- Solid experience with multi-culture working context
- Eye for beauty: attention to details and consistently delivers high-quality work (having worked on a beauty brand will be helpful)
- Experience in renovation, innovation projects and 6P analysis and tracking
- Strong project management skills to deliver projects OTIF
- Proven track record of delivering & deploying great content & communication
- Consumer focus – a data-driven understanding of how consumers in D&E markets engage with content, packaging and their purchase behaviours
