Job Description
The Technical Training Specialist is responsible for developing, delivering, and managing training programs for power plant personnel to ensure they have the necessary technical knowledge and skills to operate and maintain plant equipment efficiently and safely. This role collaborates with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to assess training needs, develop technical content, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:1. Training Program Development & Delivery
- Design, develop, and implement technical training programs for plant operators, engineers, and maintenance personnel.
- Conduct classroom, on-the-job, and hands-on training sessions covering power generation processes, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
- Create and update training materials, including manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), e-learning modules, and assessments.
- Utilize simulators, virtual training tools, and real-time plant data for interactive learning experiences.
- Assess the skills and knowledge gaps of plant personnel through evaluations, assessments, and competency frameworks.
- Develop structured training roadmaps and certification programs for different job roles within the power plant.
- Work with plant supervisors and engineers to define technical competencies and career development paths.
- Ensure all training programs comply with industry regulations, safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NEA, EMA, IEEE, IEC), and company policies.
- Maintain records of employee training certifications and ensure timely renewals.
- Conduct refresher courses on regulatory changes, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance monitoring.
- Implement improvements based on training feedback, plant operational performance, and technological advancements.
- Keep up to date with emerging trends, best practices, and new technologies in power generation and technical training.
- Partner with plant managers, engineers, and maintenance teams to ensure training aligns with operational goals and challenges.
- Work closely with HR and L&D teams to integrate technical training with overall employee development initiatives.
- Liaise with external training providers, industry experts, and certification bodies to enhance training programs.
Qualifications
Education & Experience- Diploma and above
- Fresh graduates (Diploma / Degree) are welcome, appointment would commensurate with experience.
- Experience in designing and delivering training programs is preferred.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning development tools is a plus.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging training content.
- Strong analytical skills to assess training needs and measure effectiveness.
- Adaptability to work in a dynamic, high-risk industrial environment.
