Investment Systems Engineer

Titanium Birch isn't your typical investment firm.

We're a small, multidisciplinary team building systems that make investing sharper, faster, and more thoughtful. Our work spans software, data, and operations. As we learn and explore more about businesses, markets, and investing, we use automation to coalesce and scale our ideas. 

Whether you've built production systems, automated workflows, or improved tools others rely on, we're looking for engineers who think broadly: people who bring structure to ambiguity, design pragmatic solutions, and make technology work for people, not the other way around. 

No finance experience? That's fine. What matters is how you think, what you've built, and how you learn.

What will I be doing?

You might:

• Build and maintain automations for trading, reconciliation, or reporting.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and reliability across existing systems.
• Streamline data ingestion and risk management pipelines.
• Systematise investment processes like due diligence, ETF or fund selection, and portfolio monitoring.
• Contribute to open-source projects.
• Tackle projects that improve daily efficiency from accounting integrations to CRM workflows.
• Participate in vendor evaluations

Your role will evolve. As you deliver, you'll take ownership of increasingly critical systems or take entirely new ones that create leverage for the team. The team will continuously identify and take opportunities to systematise our investment processes. 

What success looks like in your first 6 months

• You've automated something end-to-end, reducing manual effort.
• You've improved monitoring and reliability in one core system.
• You've led a well-scoped project that made the investment or operations process faster or clearer.
• You've shared your learning through documentation, mentoring, or a retrospective.

Requirements

Must have:

• 3 to 8 years of professional experience (engineering or adjacent).
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Track record of improving tools or processes others depend on.
• Comfort with automation tools or scripting.
• Interest in reliability, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
• Interest in IT and security.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Python, AWS, or infrastructure-as-code.
• Understanding of financial data or systems.
• Comfort with automated testing and test or behavior driven development

Administrative:

• Based in Singapore. We don't offer international relocation.
• If you need an Employment Pass, we can sponsor it — but you must already be in Singapore.
• You'll work primarily from our office in downtown Singapore
• Extensive reference checks are part of our process.
