Job Title: Commis Chef

Department: Kitchen

Reports To: Chef de Partie / Sous Chef / Head Chef



Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and plating of menu items according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure mise en place is prepared before service begins.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations at all times.
  • Follow food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards (SFA, NEA requirements).
  • Store and label ingredients properly to ensure freshness and minimize wastage.
  • Support senior chefs during busy service periods.
  • Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and inventory checks.
  • Adhere strictly to portion control and presentation standards.
  • Participate in daily kitchen briefings and maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Chef de Partie or management.

Requirements
  • At least 1 year of relevant kitchen experience preferred (internship or F&B background acceptable).
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and culinary techniques.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the team.
  • Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
