Job Purpose

The Senior Production Test Engineer is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining production test systems and strategies to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of hardware products before mass production. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including hardware design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to support efficient production and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop production-level test plans, procedures, and test systems for new product.

Work with hardware design engineers to understand product functionality and define test requirements and coverage.

Collaborate with the software team to automate test scripts and hardware interfaces for testing PCBA, system-level, and final product.

Evaluate and select appropriate test tools, instruments, and platforms for production use.

Provide the production test platform and test utility for manufacture test.

Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware failures in collaboration with R&D and manufacturing.

Provide test documentation to production and manufacture technicians to ensure test processes are correctly followed.

Support pilot builds and production ramp-up.

Maintain test records and provide detailed reporting of test results.

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts for test processes, tools, and methodologies.

Knowledge and skill requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.

years of relevant experience in hardware production test engineering or hardware development.

Strong understanding of Analog/digital circuits, PCB schematics, and signal integrity.

Hands-on experience with automated test systems and data acquisition tools.

Familiarity with production processes, SMT/PCBA processes, and product lifecycle management systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of quality and standards (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus.
