About the role:

The Certification & Inspection Manager for Motive Offshore Group's APAC region is a dual-function role, responsible for both technical service delivery and commercial leadership within the Certification & Inspection division. The position plays a key role in driving business growth, ensuring high-quality inspection services, and delivering technical excellence for client and company assets, in line with project requirements.

This position will lead our Technical Sales requirements, generating and qualifying leads, and ensuring customer satisfaction in line with the company's Quality Management System.

It will also provide support to the Certification and Inspection division's operational activities, ensuring successful project execution. This will include conducting visual, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and Magnetic Rope Testing (MRT) inspections of Motive APAC and client equipment to the highest standard. The role will also commission and operate spooling winches and associated equipment, ensuring all operations are performed within established safety and operational standards while maintaining clear and effective communication with clients and the Operations Department.

About the team:

You will be joining a dedicated and collaborative team, with key operations based in the APAC region. As out Motive team continues to expand, our APAC region plays an integral role in supporting the business's technical sales and service delivery.

Responsibilities:

People

• Adopting and promoting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
• Support and assist the EH Sales Manager in achieving APAC's annual sales revenue targets/budgets.
• Develop strong working relations with key stakeholders – clients, colleagues etc
• Visit clients face to face to discuss technical and commercial ongoing leads.
• Liaise and collaborate with all relevant departments within Motive regarding bespoke equipment enquiries when required.
• Conduct regular visits to existing and potential clients to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities.

• Adhere to and promote Motive's sustainability initiatives, contributing to Net Zero objectives.

Product

Technical Sales

• Handle technical sales enquiries for Certification & Inspection Services across the APAC region.
• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of certification and inspection projects.
• Support the Certification and Inspection Delivery Engineer in managing project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Contribute to ensuring that all projects are completed in accordance with client specifications, industry standards, and company procedures.
• Manage and interpret customer requirements, providing tailored solutions.
• Help to troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that may arise during project execution.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide updates on sales and operational activities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to customers during product evaluation, selection, and specification(s).
• Make technical presentations and propose tailored solutions to meet client needs.
• Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase revenue and margin.
• Attend industry exhibitions, trade shows, and client events.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform business development strategies.
• Track and manage sales projects, budgets, deliverables, and client communications.
• Target and develop client base to generate growth in sales revenue and margin thorough contractual and new business wins.

Service Delivery

• Carry out quality checks on the product and service delivery at the end of the project, as per the customer satisfaction management procedure.
• Read and understand technical drawings associated with the Motive Offshore Group Ltd product offering.
• Visual Inspections: Perform thorough visual assessments of rental fleet and lifting equipment.
• Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance, management, and certification processes for equipment.
• Database Administration: Maintain and update the Motive online certification database accurately.
• Non-Destructive Testing: Conduct NDT on rental fleet equipment to ensure integrity and compliance.
• Workshop Support: Assist with general workshop duties as and when required.
• Wire Rope Operations: Support tasks including spooling, inspection, and socketing of wire ropes
• Field Inspections: Carry out visual inspections of lifting equipment and accessories at various sites.
• Advanced Testing: Execute non-destructive testing and magnetic rope testing on site.
• Database Utilization: Use the Motive online certification database for remote equipment management.
• Wire Rope Maintenance: Manage wire rope spooling, socketing, and inspection tasks.
• Crane Operations: Facilitate the removal and installation of crane wire ropes.
• Global Engagement: Participate in offshore operations and work assignments across international locations as required.

Required skills / knowledge:

• Proven technical knowledge of Motive product lines
• Previous experience in sales with the ability to achieve and exceed targets.
• Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of sales.
• Good negotiator, with an innovative approach and client focused approach.
• Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics/requirements.
• Awareness of sustainability and environmental considerations within a sales and technical context.
• Proficiency in using sales and CRM tools and strong computer literacy.
• Good presentation skills.
• Ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organisation.
• Non-destructive testing certification.
• LEEA Lifting equipment inspection certification.
• Offshore survival & medical (can be provided).
• Rope access certification is preferred, but can be provided.
• Eddy current inspection is preferred, but can be provided.
