We are now hiring the following position:

Senior Service Technician – International Programmes

Mainly responsible for providing technical support to underwriters, market managers and other stakeholders in all aspects of international programmes (IP) business including advice on compliant solutions, country capabilities, network cots and other related information on IP.

Specific

Underwriting

  • Assist underwriters in designing programme structures that are compliant and in line with HDI Global Network's guidelines

  • Together with the underwriters, meet brokers and clients to discuss new business opportunities or conduct renewal negotiations

  • Develop customer specific service plans and service level agreements by putting in place agreed KPIs

  • Provide guidance to underwriters in respect of local requirements in the country including guidance on premium allocation, network costs, local taxes and other relevant information

  • Prepare and deliver IP proposals and/or presentation to brokers and/or customers, and if required, including post implementation customer reports

  • Escalate potential issues to Service Delivery Manager or to any relevant stakeholders which may impact the customer

  • Co-ordinates reinsurance requirements with underwriters on both Passive and Active RI

Administration

  • Manage the end to end process of international programme, including:

  • Pre-renewal submission to underwriters

  • Mapping of countries of risks and conducting permissibility check

  • Preparation of country capability report

  • Request for tariff quotation or US quotation if requested by underwriters

  • Preparation of ROC, GdV, RI Scheme and any relevant instruction documents

  • Input and manage information, including premium booking in the Global Network Portal

  • Ensure smooth implementation of programmes by providing all required information by the Servicing Offices and resolve day to day issues in a timely manner

  • Work across all relevant teams internally or within the network to provide answers/solutions to clients local needs

  • In conjunction with the Policy Operations Team, ensure all premium are booked in GERAS on time by preparing the necessary calculations required to process the premium in the system

  • Ensure all local policies and invoices are issued within the prescribed service metrics

  • Review local documents to ensure they match instructions

Reinsurance

  • Complete the RI permissibility check and send the TML approval template to RI team in Germany

  • Prepare Retrocession Agreements and ensure these are signed and finalised by all parties to the Agreement

  • Co-ordinate with the Reinsurance team in Germany any request for changes by the market

  • Prepare cashflow spreadsheet and submit to broker/reinsurer for approval

  • Organise payments to reinsurers in conjunction with Finance

  • In case of captive involvement, co-ordinate approval process with the Captive Services team in Germany

  • Assist underwriters to facilitate requirements in the completion of Active reinsurance such as review of Agreements and booking of RI premium

Marketing

  • Support cross-class marketing initiatives which primarily involves IP

  • Assist Market Management in the development of promotional items for IP

  • Support underwriting and market management's efforts in building reputation of service excellence within Singapore

  • Co-ordinate training and presentation to brokers and clients as means to promote IP capabilities

Key Competencies Required

  • Has a minimum of 5 years insurance experience

  • Has appropriate formal qualifications
