We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced AI/ML Research Scientist to join our growing research team focused on advancing the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Software Engineering (SE). You will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of intelligent tools and techniques that improve how software is designed, written, tested, and maintained.

Requirements:

  • Define and lead cutting-edge research directions in AI4SE, advancing the state of the art.
  • Drive projects that integrate AI/ML techniques into software engineering workflows to enhance code quality, testing, debugging, and software maintenance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with AI researchers, software engineers, and product teams to translate theoretical research into real-world applications.
  • Curate and manage large-scale datasets and benchmarks relevant to software engineering problems.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in both AI/ML and SE to identify emerging trends and shape future research directions.
  • Publish your work in top-tier conferences and journals, and actively engage with the global research community.
  • Mentor junior researchers, interns, and collaborate with external research partners.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven research expertise in AI, Machine Learning, and/or Software Engineering, with a strong publication record (minimum of 2 publications in A or A*-level conferences/journals).
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
  • Hands-on experience developing AI/ML-based tools or frameworks for software engineering tasks.
  • Deep knowledge of automated code generation, program synthesis, program verification, or AI-driven software testing.
  • Familiarity with modern AI4SE concepts such as Prompt Engineering, Chain of Thought reasoning, and Agentic Systems.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a research setting and lead collaborative projects.
  • Experience using or configuring static code analyzers as part of research or engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, EC2, ECS, SNS, SQS, RDS).
  • Experience with open-source software contributions or developing research prototypes/tools that are publicly released.
