Baggage Officer-In-Charge (1-Year Renewable) – Changi Airport

Salary: Up to $2, month completion bonus

Shift: Rotating Day (8:30 AM – 8:30 PM) and Night (8:30 PM – 8:30 AM) shifts with 2 days off; cycle repeats

Role Overview:

The Baggage Officer-In-Charge (OIC) provides on-ground supervision within the Baggage Handling Area (BHA) and works closely with the Baggage Coordinator at the Airside Management Center (AMC). The OIC ensures a safe, efficient, and well-organized working environment, helping to minimize baggage mishandling and maintain Baggage Presentation standards that meet or exceed KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Baggage Coordinator (BC) and Engineering Baggage Control Room Supervisors to identify priority areas at the start of each shift.
  • Monitor daily staffing levels for arrivals, departures, and transfer handling to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Prepare and submit reports/SitReps to the Baggage Coordinator for tracking and escalation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the BHA in collaboration with FM External and other stakeholders.
  • Report facility or cleaning issues to FMC promptly.
  • Facilitate joint inspections with stakeholders, supported by Airside Support Officers or higher management.
  • Maintain close coordination with all internal and external stakeholders in the BHA.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an operations-focused role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with airline/airport apron and baggage operations is a plus.
  • Quick learner, adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
