About the Role

We are seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our Internal Medicine – Cardiology team.

This role focuses on supporting our cardiology specialists and nurses in providing advanced cardiac care to patients with heart and circulatory conditions. You will play an essential role in assisting during diagnostic procedures, patient monitoring, and daily clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Patient Support

  • Assist veterinarians and nurses in cardiology consultations and diagnostic procedures (e.g., echocardiograms, ECGs, radiographs).
  • Monitor and comfort patients before, during, and after cardiac tests or treatments.
  • Support in administering medications and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Safely handle and restrain animals using low-stress techniques.

Operational & Equipment Support

  • Prepare, clean, and maintain cardiology equipment (e.g., ultrasound machines, ECG leads).
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of consultation and procedure rooms.
  • Ensure smooth coordination of patients and cases within the Internal Medicine department.

Team & Client Interaction

  • Work closely with veterinarians, nurses, and specialists to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Communicate politely and professionally with clients, providing reassurance and basic patient updates under supervision.

Requirements
  • No prior veterinary experience required — training will be provided.
  • Prior experience or volunteering involving animal handling is an advantage.
  • Strong interest in veterinary cardiology and animal healthcare.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work on a rotating schedule including weekends and public holidays (time off in lieu provided).
  • Open to Singaporeans only.
