Assistant Warehouse Supervisor

Job Purpose
- Assist Logistics HOD in planning, organizing, and directing, managing and evaluation of logistics & warehouse operations in the company
Work with internal and external teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery as well as binning of incoming goods
To provide administrative and building facility management support for CLLS
Delegate work orders to warehouse assistants on daily basis
Schedule warehouse drivers on deliveries and collections
Job Content
- Trains warehouse team in order handling procedures and customer relations techniques, advises the team of new or revised information on products or merchandise such as product capability, credit, warranties, and shipping.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve operation efficiency.
- Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
- Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
Ensure cleans, wrap and pack products prior to storage or delivery.
Assign and supervise team to perform binning, fulfilment and delivery accordingly.
Practice space optimization.
Use the right tools and material handling equipment for the movement of goods in the warehouse such as cranes, forklift and pallet jack.
Perform daily routine check on the material handling equipments in the warehouse such as topping up battery water, cleaning the equipments, etc.
Maintain good housekeeping of the premises through assignment of such duties i.e. goods are orderly and stored properly. Ensure tidiness and cleanliness of warehouse premises.
Ensure premises is safe & secure.
Examine operation quality by conduct random check on pick, pack and delivery
Observe and follow safety rules and regulations.
Conduct weekly/routine briefing with logistics staff on safety & updates on any changes in operations/policies.
Review and recommend improvement to work procedures and processes with the objective of improving productivity and increase efficiency.
Maintain and control ISO 9001:2015 documentation process.
Prepare Projects Status report and follow through implementation.
Assist in coordinating with Sales department on shipment & collection of goods matters.
Take on any assignments by HOD/Management as and when required.
Inspect on random basis to check goods are in their proper locations.
To report any suspicious persons or incidents out of ordinary to management whenever they occur.
Must ensure that all warehouse personnel who are operating any machinery are licence to do so, if required.
Train all warehouse/logistics personnel on matters related to their work whenever required.
To recommend off-site and external training for staff when required or if such action can result in better efficiency and effectiveness for the department i.e. skills and competency improvement.
Conduct weekly morning briefing of jobs to be carried out by warehouse staff.
Report any equipment malfunction or facility deficiencies to HOD.
Assist logistics HOD to organize & conduct annual stock take
Monitor team discipline and performance and report to HOD on any misconduct
Perform other duties as and when assigned.
Job Requirement
- Min Diploma in Logistic Management, Supply Chain Management or Business Management or related discipline
- Min 3 years of related work experience in similar capacity
- Knowledge of SAP and IWMS is a must
