Mechanical Construction/Piping Engineer- Greenfield Projects

  • Lead and oversee the mechanical construction scope-primarily piping-of greenfield pharmaceutical facility projects
  • Ensure work is executed safely, on schedule, in compliance with applicable regulations, GMP / pharma standards, and meets quality and cost expectations.
  • Manage all mechanical / piping construction activities for greenfield pharmaceutical facility: layout, installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems (process, utility, HVAC, sanitation, etc.).
  • Provide input into the design as needed, including reviewing vendor drawings, isometrics, pipe supports, material specifications, and piping routing.
  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, electrical, QA/validation, safety, and other disciplines to ensure integrated delivery.
  • Oversee selection and procurement of piping materials, fittings, valves, supports, hangers, insulation, etc. Ensure quality compliance and compatibility.
  • Supervise contractors / subcontractors engaged in piping works; monitor progress, workmanship, and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, GMP, and industry standards
  • Conduct site inspections, quality assurance / quality control for piping installations
  • Ensure safety compliance and enforce good site practices. Perform risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safe work plans.
  • Plan and schedule mechanical/piping work; resource allocation; coordinate with construction schedule to avoid clashes, minimize delays.
  • Monitor cost usage and productivity; manage deviations, track progress vs budget, report status.
  • Support commissioning, start-up, and handover activities: coordinate mechanical/piping systems startup, leak tests, flushing, sterilization, validation as required.
  • Maintain documentation: as-built drawings, installation records, inspection/test reports, traceability of materials and welds, quality documentation.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical / piping construction in pharmaceutical / biotech / aseptic / process facility projects.
  • Knowledge of piping codes and standards (e.g. ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, ANSI, ASTM, ISO, etc.), welding and NDT methods.
  • Familiarity with Singapore regulatory and safety requirements.
