Our client is a global leader in the production of key petrochemical products, including phenol, acetone, and alpha-methyl styrene, operating one of the largest and most advanced facilities of its kind in Asia. To support ongoing plant performance and technical reliability, our client is seeking for E&I talents who bring strong technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and a deep commitment to safety and compliance.

Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

Location: Jurong Island | Perm

4 MUST-HAVEs JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, E&I, or Control & Automation, with 2–5 years of hands-on experience in E&I engineering within petrochemical, chemical processing, or oil & gas industries. Strong track record in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing E&I systems in hazardous areas, with practical involvement in daily plant maintenance, shutdowns, turnarounds (TAR), and reliability projects. Proficient in loop checks, instrument calibration, logic testing, and system commissioning.

2. Proven hands-on experience with:

  • Yokogawa Centum VP DCS systems, including logic modification, graphic updates, and control strategy tuning.
  • Omron PLCs and Mitsubishi PLCs, as well as communication protocols such as HART and Modbus.
  • Strong ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, and single-line schematics.

3. Strong proficiency in electrical distribution systems, including Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV), motor controls, switchgears, transformers, and protective relays. Solid working knowledge of process instrumentation, such as field transmitters, analyzers, and control valve systems, as well as proven experience with Ex installations in hazardous areas, with familiarity in standards like IEC 60079, ATEX, or NEC.

4. Solid knowledge and hands-on experiencein the following areas:

  • IEC and IEEE Standards
  • Singapore Standards (SS), including MOM regulations.
  • Permit-to-work (PTW),
  • Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO),
  • Process safety management systems.
  • Functional safety standards (IEC 61511)
  • Safety Integrity Level (SIL) classification.
  • AutoCAD,
  • SAP.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of technical accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors.
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and accountability in field execution and task management.
  • Positive attitude, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently under pressure.
  • Good team player with a humble character.
  • Willingness to support emergency callouts, after-hours duties, and plant shutdown work.
